How to install RPM Fusion on CentOS

RPM Fusion provides software that the Fedora Project or Red Hat doesn’t want to ship. That software is provided as precompiled RPMs for all current Fedora versions and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6; you can use the RPM Fusion repositories with tools like yum and PackageKit.

Installing the RPM Fusion repo requires another repo – EPEL

 

Enable the free/non-free repositories of RPM Fusion on CentOS 6:

yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/updates/6/i386/rpmfusion-free-release-6-1.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/el/updates/6/i386/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-6-1.noarch.rpm

 

Enable the free/non-free repositories of RPM Fusion on CentOS 5:

$ sudo rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/updates/5/i386/rpmfusion-free-release-5-1.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/el/updates/5/i386/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-5-1.noarch.rpm
