FreeNAS “failed to start: vm_create: Device not configured” Error Fix
If FreeNAS VM not starting problem in most cases can be easily fixed.
To resolve this problem reboot FreeNAS, login to BIOS and enable CPU Virtualization.
If it doesn’t and you still receiving error message “failed to start: vm_create: Device not configured”, you need check your hardware compatibility with FreeNAS virtualization requirements. CPU should have support EPT for FreeBSD bhyve (bhyve is FreeBSD Hypervisor which is use FreeNAS).
