Installing RPMforge (RepoForge) Repository on CentOS, RHEL, Scientific Linux 4/5/6/7

CentOS

RPMforge is a collaboration of Dag and other packagers. They provide over 5000 packages for CentOS, including wine, vlc, mplayer, xmms-mp3, and other popular media tools. It is not part of Red Hat or CentOS but is designed to work with those distributions.

RPMforge for CentOS, RHEL, Scientific Linux 7

# yum install http://repository.it4i.cz/mirrors/repoforge/redhat/el7/en/x86_64/rpmforge/RPMS/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el7.rf.x86_64.rpm
# yum update

 

RPMforge for CentOS, RHEL, Scientific Linux 6

Download the rpmforge-release package:

32 bit

wget http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.i686.rpm

 

64 bit

wget http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm

 

Install DAG’s GPG key:

rpm --import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt

Install the package:

rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.*.rpm

 

RPMforge for CentOS, RHEL, Scientific Linux 5

Download the rpmforge-release package:

32 bit

wget http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm

 

64 bit

wget http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el5.rf.x86_64.rpm

 

Install DAG’s GPG key:

rpm --import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt

Install the package:

rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el5.rf.*.rpm

 

 RPMforge for CentOS, RHEL, Scientific Linux 4

Download the rpmforge-release package:

32 bit

wget http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el4.rf.i386.rpm

 

64 bit

wget http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el4.rf.x86_64.rpm

 

Install DAG’s GPG key:

rpm --import http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt

 

Install the package:

rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el4.rf.*.rpm

 

Update the Repositories

After installing the RepoForge (RPMforge) repository package, you have to update the repository lists:

yum update
